The Spring semester at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center’s College for Older Adults (COA) has been bustling with activity and excitement. Designed to provide enriching learning opportunities for adults aged 50 and over, the COA has once again proven that it’s never too late to explore new skills, hobbies, and experiences.
This semester, participants have been diving into a variety of engaging courses and activities. One of the highlights has been the hands-on robotics class, where participants are building robots and learning about technology in a fun and interactive way.

Monica Hoel organized a fascinating tour of the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center as part of her E&H Road Trip series, where attendees had the chance explore student life at the Equestrian Center, learn about the variety of competitions students participate in, and gain insight into the care and management of the horses.

The semester has also featured a diverse range of other classes and activities. From arts and literature to fitness and wellness programs, the COA offers something for everyone.

The College for Older Adults is the perfect place to continue learning, growing, and meeting new people in a welcoming and supportive environment. Visit swcenter.edu/COA to access the latest updates on the program.
