The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration aimed at addressing the growing workforce demands in the health and life sciences sectors within GO Virginia Region 1. This initiative brings together a diverse group of stakeholders to make a lasting impact on our region’s workforce. Key participants include educators, employers, economic development professionals, and community partners.
The collaboration will specifically target communities within the LENOWISCO, Cumberland Plateau, and Mount Rogers Health Districts. These areas have been identified as critical to addressing the growing workforce needs, and the SWVHEC is committed to ensuring these communities are prepared for the future.
We invite you to join us for the kickoff meeting on March 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event promises to be an informative and collaborative session, where we will set the stage for this groundbreaking initiative.
Event Highlights:
- Dr. Bill Hazel, from Claude Moore Opportunities, will share insights on a successful partnership model that has made a difference in workforce development.
- Dr. Caroline Sutter, from George Mason University’s Center for Health Workforce, will present regional workforce data, providing valuable insights to inform our efforts as we move forward.
