of Virginia's School of Continuing and Professional Studies serves
more than 30,000 students annually from every legislative district
in the Commonwealth and visitors from other states and nations.
Through the School, the University contributes to the economic well-being
of the Commonwealth, providing undergraduate and graduate courses,
degree programs, certificate programs and noncredit workshops for
the post-collegiate adult.
In
Abingdon, UVA is one of seven partners in the Southwest Virginia
Higher Education Center, located on the campus of Virginia Highlands
Community College. We serve thirteen counties and three cities from
Wytheville west to Lee County. While our audience is primarily teachers
in K-12 education, we offer additional courses in engineering and higher education.
Some non-credit workshops are offered upon request from school divisions
or the business community. We specialize in Professional development and opportunities for school divisions and businesses. Courses are offered by a variety of delivery methods including online, digital video conferencing, and face to face instruction.
