Currently on Exhibit at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center: Paintings by Rebecca Pippin

Abingdon artist Rebecca Pippin is showcasing a selection of paintings at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center that reflect her love for her family and her southwest Virginia home.  Working primarily in acrylics, Pippin says she paints to share what she loves and to demonstrate to her children that they can pursue their goals and dreams regardless of who they are.

Through her art, Pippin aspires to share that which is important to her, with her family occupying pride of place, and her roots firmly planted in the Appalachian earth.  It is Pippin’s hope that observers of the exhibition will sense the depths of love she has for her family and the region.

Pippin grew up in southwest Virginia and graduated cum laude from Virginia Highlands Community College, having received an AA&S Education Specialization in Art in 2024.  Her artwork has graced local publications, been featured in several solo exhibitions as well as an extensive list of group exhibitions, and has garnered a number of distinguished awards in shows throughout the region.

Located on the second floor Art Wall, the exhibition will be on display through the end of April.  Admission is free.  For additional information, please contact the Higher Education Center at 276-619-4300.
