Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center Showcases Artwork by Donna Johnson

The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center is currently featuring the work of regional artist Donna Johnson on its Art Wall, with the exhibit on display through June.

Johnson, a Smyth County resident, creates vibrant, textured pieces using oil paints applied with a palette knife.

“I am primarily inspired by God’s creations and tend to enjoy landscape subject matter the most,” Johnson said. “Recently, I have been incorporating gold leaf, which adds a reflective, golden glow to the pieces. I hope you enjoy the way the light catches the paintings.”

All pieces in the exhibit are available for purchase, and visitors are invited to view the artwork at the Center free of charge. For purchasing inquiries, please contact in**@******er.edu.
