The College for Older Adults at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center will begin its spring term of noncredit classes on Feb. 17 and run through March 20, 2026. Special single-session classes will be offered on Mondays beginning Feb. 23.
The program is open to individuals age 50 and older. A $40 enrollment fee provides access to all scheduled classes during the spring term. “It is education for the joy of learning,” says Ed Morgan, College for Older Adults Coordinator. “We don’t focus on taking roll, quizzes, or term papers.”
Spring course offerings cover a range of subjects, including literature, travel, art, history, technology, health, and philosophy.
Registration will take place with a Welcome Back Celebration on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center. Interested individuals can also register for classes online at swcenter.edu/COA or in person following the Welcome Back Celebration.
