Emory & Henry College Announces New Business Courses Online and at Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center

Adults seeking to advance their knowledge of business management and accounting will have a fresh and affordable opportunity to take classes online or at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center just once a week for eight weeks starting this fall, from 6 to 9 p.m

“We understand there are many folks in the community who need to boost their careers with additional business classes to help supervise their teams, manage a business or grow their career,” said Joe Botana, Director of Adult Continuing Education at Emory & Henry.

With a $50 deposit, tuition is just $395 per credit (classes are three credits). E-books are included in the cost. Many employers may cover the costs of tuition via reimbursement or may consider to include as a part of severance packages. Emory & Henry supports members of the community who are job searching and are looking for an extra boost in their education to move into another position and stay in the area. It’s offering a twenty-five percent discount to any Bristol Compressors employees starting with this fall’s class.

“We offer seamless transfer of credit and an efficient path toward an education while one continues to work or chooses to shift their career path,” said Botana. “It’s an excellent and affordable way to put Emory & Henry on your resume and work directly with our faculty. The program is designed to be completed in two to three years while attending part-time.” Eventually, multiple classes could lead toward a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business with a concentration Management or Accounting.

The first class will start Monday, October 22 and concludes Friday, December 14. Registration and more details can be found at www.ehc.edu/ACE. Spring Session I starts Monday, January 7 and concludes March 3. Spring Session II runs from March 4 to April 28. Classes include: Federal Income Tax, Marketing, Management Information Systems and Management Principles.

An Open House will be held on Thursday, September 20, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Higher Ed Center. Or you may call Mary Bolt, at 276-944-6135 or mbolt@ehc.edu to learn more.
