Complete your B.S. or B.A. degree with nearly 200 adult learners who are working to develop leadership skills, serve their communities and increase earning potential. Virginia Intermont offers a well-respected, long-standing degree program specifically designed for adults who want to attend college while continuing to work and care for their families. Classes are offered during evening and weekend hours in a unique format that allows some students to earn their degrees in 18 to 24 months. The program includes classes held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon. Core and elective studies courses and Bachelor’s Degree Programs are offered in:

  • Education: PreK-6 Licensure, Special Ed. K-12 licensure, and (new) Early Childhood Education
  • Social Work (includes coursework preparation for license required in some states)
  • Business Administration with concentration in Management

How To Apply:

Apply online at www.vic.edu and submit the following to the Office of Admissions:

  1. A completed Evening and Weekend College application;
  2. Official high school diploma with a minimum 2.0 GPA (or a G.E.D. average of 450 overall or higher);
  3. Official college transcripts from ALL colleges attended. For transfer students to be accepted solely on college work, they must have successfully completed a minimum of 24 credit hours. Students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA, and earn a minimum of a C for course work to transfer;
  4. Documentation of at least three years of work experience (letter of reference from employer or a work resume). Exception to work experience may be granted after a personal interview.

Financial Assistance Options: Financial assistance may be available through your employer, Pell Grants, Virginia Tuition Assistance Grants or student loans. Payment plans may be arranged to help you achieve your educational dreams.
