RU Educational Leadership

The Radford University Master of Science in Educational Leadership provides students a strong foundation for success as a school or central office administrator.  This program is specifically for the working teacher and utilizes the most available technology to attempt to minimize time lost driving to classes. All classes will be taught on-site at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon or with on-line tools.  All instructors are or have been Assistant Superintendents for Instruction and most are currently or have been Division Superintendents.  Students participate in rich Field Placements and are fully prepared for the School Leadership Licensing Assessment (SLLA), a requirement for the PreK-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement in Virginia.

Radford Educational Leadership Program completers demonstrate extremely high scores on the SLLA and also have a very high rate of success in moving into administrative ranks.

While offering a strong program developing outstanding educational leaders, the RU Educational Leadership Program is designed to be offered as a cohort, delivered to teachers aspiring to become administrators.  The program can incorporate a variety of instructional modalities from direct, personal instruction to a wide variety of asynchronous and synchronous models allowing the tailoring of our program to the needs of working professionals.
