The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) delivers higher education to rural areas of southwest Virginia, northeast Tennessee, western North Carolina and eastern Kentucky. Through collaboration and resource sharing, several of Virginia's leading colleges and universities provide degree programs for part-time and non-traditional students primarily during evening hours and on weekends. Distance education and on-line courses are central to the delivery of over sixty degree programs available at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
