The College for Older Adults (COA) is a program
for persons 50 and older who share a love of learning. COA offers courses
across a wide spectrum of subjects, ranging from historical and cultural
topics to the practical and contemporary. Learners are given the opportunity
to suggest classes, teach, network with other students, and exchange ideas
as well as continue their quest for knowledge and broaden their lives.
If you want to become a lifelong learner, sharpen your memory, meet new friends and enrich your scope of interests, enroll in the College for Older Adults at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.

Summer 2012 Schedule.
Cinematography 303: Great Movies of the 1950's and 60's. Cost $15.00. Auditorium.
Lee Saunders will start his six part movie study with "Exodus". Additional films will include "Psycho", "Friendly Persuasion", "On the Beach", "Bullitt", and "What's New Pussycat". Popcorn provided. Mondays: June 4, 18, 25; July 9, 16, and 23.
Digitalizing Slides. Cost $10.00. June 4, 10-noon, Staff Lounge
The "digitalizer" must be returned to the State in October. Frank Renault will offer a two hour "how to " and then students can sign-up for independent work throughout the summer.
iPAD - Beginners. Cost $10.00. Monday, July 16, 10-noon. Room 240.
Just getting started or wanting more to learn more about you iPAD please join Sonia Vanhook for this introductory course. Bring an iPAD as none will be provided
iPAD - Intermediate. Cost $10.00. Monday, July 23, 10 - noon. Room 240.
Sonia Vanhook will demonstrate some apps (esp. iCloud and Dropbox) that makes the iPAD such a handy electronic device.
Introduction to Computer. Cost $20.00. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - June 26 - 28 and July 10-12. 1 - 2:30pm. Room 247.
