The College for Older Adults (COA) is a program
for persons 50 and older who share a love of learning. COA offers courses
across a wide spectrum of subjects, ranging from historical and cultural
topics to the practical and contemporary. Learners are given the opportunity
to suggest classes, teach, network with other students, and exchange ideas
as well as continue their quest for knowledge and broaden their lives.
If you want to become a lifelong learner, sharpen your memory, meet new friends and enrich your scope of interests, enroll in the College for Older Adults at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
Fast Facts
$35 membership fee per six-week term
$10 optional fee entitles members to free or reduced admission to
Arts Array events sponsored by the SVHEC and
Virginia Highlands Community College.
Participants may take multiple classes per term
Three six week terms each year
