  Financial Aid

Financial Aid May Be Available for You!

The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center does not currently offer a Financial Aid office. Please contact your college or university site director for assistance. You may also reference your college or university financial aid office or website. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is usually required.

Financial aid is available from many different sources including Federal, State, Institution, and Private. Sources you may find helpful:

  • Guidance counselors - offer information about financial aid programs available from your community.
  • Internet - provides free electronic searches for information about different types of grants and scholarships available to students.
  • Libraries - have resource books with information about national financial aid programs.
  • College financial aid office - has information about financial aid programs available from the institution and state government. Contact an SVHEC site director.
  • Employers - may provide educational assistance for employees.
