The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center brings higher education closer to those in rural areas of southwest Virginia, northeast Tennessee, western North Carolina, and eastern Kentucky. A growing number of Virginia’s leading colleges and universities collaborate and share resources, providing degree programs for part-time and non-traditional students. Geared toward adult learners, classes are primarily held during evening hours and on weekends. Distance education and on-line courses are central to the delivery of more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and a variety of certificate programs.
