The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center continues their fall culinary series with two upcoming special classes

Soup Season Begins!

Monday, October 27, 2014 6-9 pm

Melissa Gleason of Me and K’s

It is the beginning of soup season and Melissa Gleason, 1st place winner of our Great Winter Soup Cook Off, will share new recipes for some of her most popular soups. The class will learn how to prepare different stocks as well tips on using fresh spices, herbs, and other flavorings. Students will join Melissa to make and enjoy three delicious, healthy soups.
Classic German

Monday, October 20, 2014 6-9 pm

Ingrid Kiser, Gasthaus Edelweiss

Ingrid Kiser will be back by popular demand with more traditional German dishes, as she features some of her favorite classic recipes. German fare is rich, substantial and delicious. During this class she will explore the German culture as the class prepares a flavorful meal together. Ingrid’s quaint cottage style restaurant, Gasthaus Edelweiss, has been called “home of authentic German cuisine”.
