The Southwestern Virginia Technology Council (SWVTC) will present the SWVTC High Tech/Advanced Manufacturing Awards for 2015 at the Annual Awards Banquet and Gala June 4 at the Higher Education Center on the campus of Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon.
Two years ago Will Powers, CFO of Rolls Royce tasked the southwest VA region with developing a strategy to assist the current manufacturers to maintain and grow while attracting other manufacturers to it. Last year the Advanced Manufacturing Blueprint was unveiled and this year the Advanced Manufacturing Blueprint Implementation Team will be presented.
SWVTC is very excited that its keynote speaker is an individual foremost in the field of cyber security, Admiral Bob Day, former CIO and Commander CG Cyber Command and current Executive Director of The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Cyber Commission.
Exhibit booths will be on display showing some of the latest STEM advancements in Drones and Robotics.
