Ethics and Social Networking and Ethical Action in Challenging Times

EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK PRESENTS:
 
Dr. Strom-Gottfried will present at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon on May 25, 9:00am-3:30pm, Room 103. The topics will includeEthics and Social Networking and Ethical Action in Challenging Times. Five hours of continuing education units are being offered through TN NASW (recognized by the VA Social Work Licensure Board).  ETSU affiliates will attend for free; NASW members for $15; all others $30. Registration deadline is May 20. If circumstances arise that make attendance impossible, registrants may contact Rana Duncan-Daston and designate someone else to attend in his/her place. Kim Strom-Gottfried, Ph.D.
Dr. Strom-Gottfried is the Smith P. Theimann Distinguished Professor for Ethics and Professional Practice at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work. She has written over 60 articles, monographs and chapters on ethics and practice.  She is the author of Straight Talk about Professional Ethics and The Ethics of Practice with Minors, and the co-author of the texts Best of Boards, Direct Social Work Practice and Teaching Social Work Values and Ethics: A Curriculum Resource.  NASW’s 55th anniversary of the NASW Code of Ethics recognized social workers who have advanced its values, principles, and standards through education, practice, and professional review. Dr. Strom-Gottfried was one of the honorees.
 
The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center address is One Partnership Circle, Abingdon, Virginia. It is located just off I-81, Exit 14, and parking is free.
