The Virginia Tech Southwest Center provides working professionals complete graduate degree programs and classes from nationally ranked programs based at Virginia Tech's primary campus in Blacksburg. Programs include Agriculture and Life Sciences,  Career and Technical Education, Engineering, Health Promotion, Information Technology, Instructional Technology, and Political Science.  The Commonwealth is Virginia Tech's campus.  Virginia Tech provides Southwest Virginia residents with access to Virginia Tech's Research, Outreach, and Graduate programs.  New cohorts in Master or Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership are starting soon.

The Virginia Tech Southwest Center is your gateway to the opportunities offered by the commonwealth's senior land grant university and includes: We work with Virginia Tech's teaching and research faculty; academic, government, and business leaders; and community partners to create made-to-order programs that achieve results.

We bring to the table:

  • Community outreach programs;
  • Conferences, meetings, and events management;
  • Continuing and professional education programs;
  • Customized contract or certificate courses for your team;
  • Distance learning option, including graduate classes and degrees, that provide access to many of main campus courses taught in Blacksburg or the option to deliver your custom training programs across the state;
  • Experienced, quality service focused on all aspects of needs assessment, planning, instructional design, and program evaluation;
  • Meeting rooms and classrooms, including two state-of-the-art computer labs:
  • Targeted marketing communications and promotional strategies to improve program success;
  • Technical assistance projects.
