Career Transition - Vocational Special Needs Add-On Endorsement
An optional career transition concentration endorsement in Vocational Special Needs is offered by Virginia Tech.  This area of concentration evolved from vocational special needs and secondary special education.  Transition services offer individuals with disabilities coordinated activities promoting movement into adult roles in employment, further education, community and independent living.  Planning and delivery of these services involves students with disabilities, their families and teachers, and human service agencies. If you are interested in Career Transition - Vocational Special Needs Add-On Endorsement please contact:

Stock PhotoThe Career and Technical Education department does have curriculum and instruction courses available for provisional Career and Technical  Education teachers.

This six-course program was designed specifically to meet the Curriculum and Instruction licensure requirements for provisionally licensed teachers in Career and Technical Education in Virginia. It may meet the same requirement for provisionally licensed teachers in other subject areas, but that would be up to your local school administration and the Virginia Department of Education. It should be of value to teachers on emergency certification in other states, but whether it will meet specific certification requirements would have to be determined locally. Submit a VTOnline Registration form for the program courses (courses I, II, and III must be taken concurrently; IV, V, and VI must be taken concurrently).

Classes for teacher licensure may be searched for classes using the SVHEC search pages or the Virginia Tech schedule of classes.
