Current Students

Graduating

  • Exit Exam of Writing Proficiency
  • Senior Assessment Survey/Graduate Student
  • Satisfaction Survey
  • Graduation procedures
  • Some changes will be made to this schedule going forward, but it's definitely enough for you to use in your schedule planning.

**NOTE** Starting in Fall 2010, several departments in the College of Education will use different course prefixes.  As you're reviewing the schedule below, be aware of the following changes:

          - courses formerly offered under an ECI heading may now be TLED, STEM, or READ.  For instance, ECI 301 is now TLED 301, ECI 434 is now STEM 434, and ECI 680 is now READ 680.
          - courses formerly offered under an ESSE heading are now SPED.  For instance, ESSE 400 is now SPED 400.
          - courses formerly offered under an OTS are now STEM.  For instance, OTS 370T is now STEM 370T.
          - courses formerly offered under an OTED heading are now SEPS.  For instance, OTED 400 is now SEPS 400.

Please note that the course numbers remain the same; only the department abbreviations are changing.

DELIVERY METHODS:

·                        S = Satellite delivery to the local classroom.  Students are expected to attend the classroom lectures, and will be required to take all tests as scheduled at the local site.

·                        2W = Course lectures will be delivered in a manner which allows the instructor to have 2-way video and audio connection with the students in their classroom.  This delivery method is not available at all sites.

·                        Web = Web based delivery means the students will receive all or part of their instruction via an online method.  A high bandwidth internet connection is necessary for this delivery method.  Students should have a good working knowledge of the internet and BlackBoard for this method of class delivery.

·                        VS = Video streaming – this method of delivery for course lecture allows the student to access their lectures via their home or work computer.  Students who are interested in participating in this type of lecture should complete the video streaming orientation and computer compatibility test at http://dl.odu.edu/tools/vstream/index.shtml  A high bandwidth internet connection is necessary for this delivery method.  Limited Enrollment.

DAYS:

·            M-MONDAY     ·     T-TUESDAY     ·     W-WEDNESDAY     ·     R-THURSDAY     ·     F-FRIDAY     ·     S-SATURDAY

·            T/F – Class meets both days in the same time slot

·            W      S – Class meets both days, but during different time slots

·            MTWRF – Class meets every day in same time slot

NOTES:  1) Not all degree programs, courses or delivery methods are offered at every Distance Learning site.  Current and prospective students are advised to contact their local site office for the most accurate information regarding course schedules.  This is a dynamic schedule, and changes can be made without prior notice until the first day of the semester.

2) Students who wish to take a course to use toward their Teacher Certification or Recertification are advised to seek approval from their local school administration or certifying agency prior to registration for any course to be used for this purpose.  Because requirements are different for each different school district, ODU staff members cannot advise on the suitability of any course to be used for this purpose.

3) Spring 2011 registration opens on Monday, November 13, semester courses begin on Saturday, January 9, 2011.  All students are advised to register as soon as possible.  Many courses will meet their maximum capacity quickly, so students who delay registration put themselves in a position where they may not get the course schedule they need to stay on track with their degree program.
