(BSN for RN's)

The UVa-Wise Bachelor of Science in Nursing prepares graduates for a variety of workplace settings. A strong liberal arts program forms the basis for the degree that includes learning experiences in a variety of academic disciplines.
The UVa-Wise Department of Nursing is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing and holds preliminary approval from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Admission is limited to licensed, registered nurses.

About the Program

Education-intensive classroom and clinical experiences build upon your knowledge, strengthen your intellectual skills, and enrich your nursing practice. Hospitals, community health care agencies, county health departments, mobile clinics, and schools provide a variety of educational experiences for students.
As a licensed registered nurse, you will receive academic credit for the nursing courses that you took as part of your Associate’s degree or diploma. Additional credit towards your baccalaureate degree for non-nursing courses is evaluated by the Registrar’s Office at UVa-Wise.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing requires completion of an associate degree or diploma in nursing, specific general education requirements that all students who graduate from UVa’s College at Wise must meet, and the upper division nursing major.
