Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science

The degree prepares students for careers or graduate school in economics, finance, marketing, management, business administration, business education, law, public administration and entrepreneurship.

Departmental Core Requirements

All majors in the Department of Business and Economics must complete a minimum of six hours of mathematics courses numbered MATH 101 or above and the following:

Departmental Capstone Requirement
Students majoring in the Department must complete a capstone course during their final semesters at UVa’s College at Wise. This course, which includes a comprehensive examination, may be taken after a student has completed at least six hours of the required major-discipline classes with a grade of “C -” or better.
