Library Media Program

The University of Virginia's College at Wise offers a minor in Library Media leading to licensure in library media pre-K-12 in Virginia. The program requires 27-38 hours in library media and related courses in addition to general education and major requirements. A student can normally complete the library media requirements in four semesters.

Teachers who are already licensed in another area may take the appropriate library media courses for additional endorsement.

All students enrolled in the Library Media Program must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP). Admission requirements to the TEP are listed in UVA's College at Wise Catalog. Those already licensed to teach or possessing a Master's degree from an accredited institution may be admitted to the TEP after review of their credentials.
