Admissions:

Any student registering for classes at Radford University must be admitted to the University either as a:

  1. non-degree student

  2. degree-seeking student.

  3. professional certification/licensure student

Radford University's College of Graduate and Extended Education seeks students whose abilities and preparations offer likelihood for success in a graduate program. The admission decision is made by the Graduate Dean on recommendation from the faculty of the specific program. Application may now be made electronically (see Online Graduate Application http://www.runet.edu/~gradcoll/grad/gradapp.html ), or an application form can be requested from and returned to Graduate Admissions. The Graduate Application and Supporting Forms are also available online as http://www.radford.edu/~gradcoll/GradAdmiss.html which can be accessed (if you have the proper software on your computer), printed and submitted.  Please call and verify the receipt of your application with the graduate college and also note if you are applying for a cohort with the extended campus program.

If a student does not enroll in a class for the first time within one calendar year after the initial acceptance, it will be necessary to reapply. A student may apply for only one graduate program at a time. Radford University has several admission categories: degree-seeking, non-degree and professional certification/licensure.

NOTE:  Special non-degree students who wish to receive a degree in an extended campus program must complete a 'change of major" form and provide the additional supporting documentation (reference letters, test scores, etc.) required to be changed to this track.  Subject to approval by the department and the Graduate College, students may be able to transfer up to eight semester hours of course work earned as a special non-degree student.
