WALL (Weekend Adult Lifetime Learning) WALL is a non-credit program for folks who want to learn a new hobby, game, craft, skill, develop self-improvement techniques, or just want to expand awareness of local and world events. The classes are taught by volunteer instructors willing to share their knowledge. Best of all, WALL classes are fun! Most classes pack a lot of useable information and skill into a short period of time on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
The College for Older Adults winter term is now in full swing. 290 students took advantage of the 40 classes that were offered ranging from Introduction to the Computer to those dealing with more advanced computer applications, literature, science and foreign language. Our spring session begins on April 6th and will continue through May 13th. Approximately 45 courses will be taught and will include classes in food preparation, gardening, history, wildflowers, art, music, and many others. Please come join us for these fun and informative classes. Registration is $35.00 and you may take up to 6 classes for this low fee. Additional classes are available for a minimal fee per class. INTERNATIONAL & INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
The Higher Education Center’s international program provides trade promotion support to help SW Virginia businesses develop new international opportunities. More exports help our area firms retain existing jobs and create new ones. The Center is a starting point for business counseling and referrals to various public and private trade resources. We also provide international education programs for the small college partners of the Higher Ed Center. This includes our acclaimed international business study in Mexico and China programs for area college students and faculty.
